Beginning with a digital scan of a 35mm black and white negative from my archive, the images were processed unprompted through an AI model to generate fill an expanded frame. The aim was to explore how the althogirthm would expand the original, traditional photograph located at the centre of the expanded frame. The resulting transformation highlights potential outcomes/ slippages on reality when artificial intelligence reinterprets and reimagines physical images without much prompting.
